Wink Enhanced TV Debuts at the Academy Awards

Want to vote for your favorite
leading lady? Or pick this year’s best picture? On Sunday evening’s Academy
Awards show, you can do precisely that from the comfort of you own couch.
Today, E! Entertainment Television and Wink Communications, Inc.,
America’s leader in ‘one-click’ e-commerce on TV, announced a
revolutionary way for viewers to participate in Sunday’s Academy Awards
Pre-Show coverage-with a simple click of their remote control using Wink
Enhanced TV.

E! plans to include interactive voting using Wink Enhanced TV throughout
the day on all Academy Awards pre-show special programs, beginning at 12 noon
Eastern time. The interactive voting will also be included during their
official Pre-Show coverage beginning at 6 p.m. Eastern/3 p.m. Pacific. Using
Wink, E! viewers will have the opportunity to pick their top choices for the
Academy Award from among seven categories. Results from the voting will be
available to E! viewers following the Academy Awards show.

Sunday night’s interactive voting using Wink will be available to over
150,000 cable customers spread across the U.S. in cable markets in Alabama,
California, Connecticut, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Tennessee and
Texas. Interactive voting using Wink is free to access and only requires a
Wink-enabled cable box and remote control.
