Vestal, Exatel to Manufacture TV Recorder

April 1, 2000 - Istanbul Turkey / Rehovot Israel
Vestel, a major Consumer Electronics manufacturer and distributor in Europe,
and Exatel Visual Systems, a provider of digital video solutions, announced
today they will co-develop a TV Recorder, to be built into Vestel’s high-end
TV sets.

The TV Recorder will extend the current TV features to include:

* Pause/Resume - for time shifted program watching
* Record - for program recording while watching another program
* Playback and Fast Forward - for prerecorded program playback
* Instant Replay, Slow Motion and Freeze operations

The module enables up to 4 hours of high-quality recording and about 30
seconds of instant replay. All features are operated using the TV remote
control and OSD.

The solution utilizes VisionTech’s Kfir MPEG-2 encoder chip. Tommy Orpaz,
VisionTech’s Executive Marketing and Sales Manager, says “Stand-alone
recording modules designed to be an integral part of a television set will
revolutionize the digital video recording market”.

The TV Recorder will be integrated into Vestel’s TVs during Q3/00 and will
reach the market in time for the Christmas Season.
