Interactive Internet ‘TV Station in a Box’ to Power Launch of Am. Arts Network
AT NAB2000 ImaginOn, Inc. (NASDAQ: IMON) (www.imaginon.com) announced that its
ImOn.comTV(TM) interactive Internet “television station in a box” will be the Internet television
system that powers the launch of the American Arts Network — the first dedicated arts Internet
television site and the first entity to establish a comprehensive Internet-based method for funding the
arts. According to David Perry, President of American Arts Network, based in Leesburg, Virginia,
the official launch of the new broadband American Arts Network Internet TV channel is scheduled for
September. “However, this month we plan to launch a preview of the site that will be fully powered by
ImOn.comTV.”
According to Perry, “The integrated capabilities of ImOn.comTV are exactly what we have been
searching for. ImaginOn provides our organization with the tools to set up an Internet broadcast entity,
the ability to become operational in an Internet broadcast environment, and the ability to archive and
browse our catalog of content as it grows over time. What’s more, ImOn.comTV can help us get
started now.”
The element of immediacy, Perry stresses, is critical in a media industry in which perception is so
important to the long-term success of any Internet-based undertaking. “We cannot wait for broadband
to become a mainstream reality. If we wait for broadband to become a mainstream reality, we lose the
opportunity to establish mindshare for our brand now. ImaginOn is the one company that has the
integrated solution we need to achieve a secure foothold in the emerging broadband Internet TV
space.”
The American Arts Network will serve two parallel purposes, both of which will be crucial to the
development of the arts in the 21st century. As a broadband provider of Internet television about the
arts community, the American Arts Network will become a driving force in the arts world by
providing a completely new level of how information is conveyed. “If someone wants to know about a
specific painter after watching one of our programs, that person can access reproductions of the
paintings from anywhere online using the instant Web-linking feature that’s built into the ImOn.comTV
system,” Perry explains. “If it’s a violinist that interests the viewer, they can immediately access any
online material related to that musican or their music.”
But equally as important, by establishing itself as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) clearly
identified with the arts community, the American Arts Network will be able to provide a channel for
funding the arts unlike any ever before seen. “For the most part, the arts community has been on the
outside of the Internet revolution,” Perry says. “Arts organizations struggle with the new technology
and the costs associated with creating and maintaining web sites. American Arts Network’s mission is
to link all the arts organizations onto one powerful network which provides daily news and information
concerning the arts. And we will return substantial portions of our ISP revenues back to the arts
organizations that promote us to their members. The ImOn.comTV technology is our technological
key to bringing the arts community into the Internet Age.”
According to ImaginOn Vice President of Business Development Sue Ann von Kaeppler, “We
applaud the vision of the American Arts Network and we are proud that ImOn.comTV technology
will be the Internet television system that powers its growth in the market. Thanks to the Internet and
ImOn.comTV, the American Arts Network is poised to achieve its objectives in a way that simply
would not be possible in the conventional broadcast era. Internet television changes the rules of
broadcasting for everybody. It opens the door of possibility to any one with a smart idea or a noble
mission.”
