MeTV.com Signs Intel to Stream Movies
WATERFORD CT, May 11, 2000 MeTV.com, an Internet broadband
video-on-demand movie service, has entered an agreement to use Intel
Internet Media Services as its streaming media provider for feature films,
music videos, shorts and related broadband entertainment content streamed
from the MeTV.com website, (www.MeTV.com).
“This relationship is very significant, coming as it does at the launch of
Intel Internet Media Services,” said Ernst Renner, Chief Technology
Officer, MeTV.com. “It serves to position both companies to establish a
solid foundation for entertainment delivery via the Internet.”
MeTV.com began posting content to Intel Internet Media Services’ broadcast
operations center server and associated metropolitan area servers on May
1st in building towards its consumer services roll-out in June. “Being
involved from the start gives us the opportunity to work with Intel
Internet Media Services to establish entertainment video Internet
distribution practices and quality of service levels, setting a standard
for our growing industry.” added Renner.
