Peak Broadcast Systems Introduces the Pilot Tool Kit for Interactive TV

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, May 4, 2000 - Peak Broadcast Systems, a leading developer
of real-time 2D, 3D rendering and virtual set software, as well as
sophisticated control systems for the composition and playback of graphics
for the broadcast and web mediums, introduced the Pilot Tool kit for
Interactive TV at The National Association of Broadcasters Convention.

The Pilot Tool Kit for Interactive TV permits the simultaneous delivery of
graphics and supplementary information to the “air” broadcast channel as well
as the web. Viewers with Microsoft’s WebTV or other advanced set-top boxes
can easily take advantage of this new functionality.

“We are pleased to be working with Peak as they launch their Pilot Tool Kit
and bring their innovation in television production to the rapidly expanding
interactive content and set top box marketplace,” said Andy Beers, Microsoft
Group Business Development Manager. “This agreement is part of our long-term
commitment to expand and enrich technologies that are enabling interactive
television.”

Utilizing Peak Broadcast Systems’ Pilot Objectstore and Pilot Newssuite of
control software, graphics artists, writers, producers and other individuals
can easily use Pilot’s templates to “compose”, edit and playout graphics for
broadcast and, using the same template to enhance the viewing experience, add
graphics and other data, for the interactive medium. All this for live,
synchronized delivery to both the broadcast and web mediums.
