Sun Comm Gives `TV Relief’ to Los Alamos Fire Victims in Santa Fe Shelter

SANTA FE, N.M.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 17, 2000–EchoStar
Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: DISH, DISHP) is proud to announce
that Sun Comm, a DISH Network(TM) retailer from Santa Fe, N.M.,
donated and installed a DISH Network satellite television system in
the Red Cross Station of the Santa Fe High School to provide a source
of entertainment - hundreds of movie, family, sports and news channels
- for fire evacuation victims and families who were seeking shelter
from the Los Alamos fires.

“We realized that many of these fire victims had nothing to watch
besides the news, which constantly showed burning homes,” said Ruben
Nunez, owner of Sun Comm. “We wanted to provide some alternative
programming to give the people a much needed break and finally
something to smile about. They were extremely appreciative, gave our
technicians hugs and expressed their gratitude.”

“DISH Network appreciates that Sun Comm donated their time and
resources to the shelter,” said Tom Stingley, vice president of sales
for the Western division of DISH Network. “We hope that DISH Network
programming provided an enjoyable and entertaining diversion from the
tragedy endured by the people of Los Alamos and the surrounding
areas.”

Sun Comm has been a DISH Network retailer for three years and a
local Santa Fe business for 10 years serving New Mexico statewide. For
