SpinTV Testing Videos-On-Demand

SpinTV, an emerging leader in the interactive television (iTV) industry, announced today that it has been appointed agency of record for VideosDotCom, a company that is pioneering a new video distribution method through the television via Internet download.

SpinTV developed VideosDotCom’s website and launched it in January 2000. Now, as part of their responsibilities as agency of record, SpinTV will develop VideosDotCom’s video-on-demand TV interface. The interface will be designed to allow subscribers to rent or buy movies over the Internet using the VideosDotCom NetMovies service. The interface will leverage VideosDotCom’s products and services by providing a library of movies to the viewer that can be downloaded to a set-top box and viewed on a regular TV set.

According to SpinTV CIO Scott Lillig, given the enthusiasm of movie fans worldwide, the interface must be carefully designed to both capture the essence of the cinematic experience and expedite subscriber queries for the movies. “This is an exciting project and we are very pleased that VideosDotCom has retained SpinTV to develop their interface,” said Scott. “By combining our designer’s expertise with VideosDotCom’s database technology, we will create an industry standard for interactive TV presence.”
