Wink Signs Five-Year Distribution Deal With Bell ExpressVu
TORONTO and ALAMEDA, Calif., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ — Bell ExpressVu,
Canada’s leading direct-to-home satellite TV company and
Wink Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: WINK) today announced an agreement to offer
Wink interactive television services to Bell ExpressVu’s DBS (Direct Broadcast
Satellite) System viewers. Under the agreement, Bell ExpressVu will deploy
Wink into 1 million homes over a five-year period. The first generation of
these new services will be available later this year.
The agreement specifies that Bell ExpressVu has designated Wink to be its
provider of in-video interactive content and will work with Wink to offer
interactive broadcast content through a broad spectrum of Canadian programming
partners. Bell ExpressVu and Wink will partner to develop and deploy
T-commerce applications and will utilize Wink technology to aggregate and
process transactions.
