Street Smarts Goes Interactive on AOLTV

Throughout May and June, AOLTV users can play along interactively with Street Smarts, a pop-culture comedy/game show.

Street Smarts, a game in which two contestants vie to predict person-on-the-street answers from across the U.S., is the first interactive TV series from Warner Bros. It is also the first time that AOLTV members can play along with a game show while watching it on television.

AOLTV users, in a one-screen interactive format, can test their own street smarts and earn points by correctly guessing how much the “street scholars” on the nationally syndicated show actually know. At the end of the game, at-home players can compare their final scores with the contestants on the show.

The ATVEF-compliant, interactive broadcast is an AOLTV exclusive, and is not available on non-AOLTV ATVEF-compliant tuners, said Spelling Communications Senior Account Executive Monica Floreno.

AOLTV, Warner Bros. New Media, Telepictures Productions and Mixed Signals Technologies developed the Street Smarts interactive application.

AOLTV President Robert Frieman said he expected Street Smarts “will be the first of many concerted efforts between AOLTV, Telepictures and Warner Bros.”

Currently, AOLTV also offers monthly interactive broadcasts of HBO Boxing After Dark.
