Internet-Ready Microsoft Xbox Game Machine to Incorporate DVD-ROM

Microsoft announced Wednesday that its Xbox video game console will go sale Nov. 8 for $299. More than just a fancy new gaming machine, the Xbox will include a DVD-ROM drive, (with an optional kit required to playback DVD movies), a 10GB hard drive and an Ethernet connection for broadband Internet capability.

Microsoft, behind a $500 million marketing blitz, expects to sell more than 1 million units by the end of the year.
