nCUBE to Deliver VOD, SVOD, nPVR in Western Show Demos

Reprinted from an nCUBE press release:

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nov. 14, 2001–nCUBE Corporation, a world leader in providing competitive on-demand entertainment solutions, today
announced the company’s plans for the upcoming Western Show beginning Nov. 28 in Anaheim, Calif.

From traditional Video-On-Demand (VOD), near VOD (nVOD), Subscription VOD (SVOD), network Personal Video Recording (nPVR) to Digital Program Insertion (DPI),
Western Show 2001 attendees can view nCUBE’s full range of digital streaming video solutions at nCUBE partner booths and in the CableNET Interactive Pavilion.

nCUBE continues to excel in the on-demand marketplace, delivering VOD to almost two million homes worldwide. nCUBE recently announced it will build the largest
single location video server in the U.S. for Time Warner Cable’s Los Angeles market. Earlier this year, nCUBE shipped the largest single location video server in the
world for Kingston Communications in the U.K.

In June 2001, nCUBE introduced a network PVR system which enables broadband operators to deliver PVR capability, including VCR control (pause, rewind, fast
forward) over live television, economically and quickly, while spending less money than they would need to with a set-top-based solution. By transferring the storage to
the server rather than set-top-boxes, operators are able to record more than 200 digital channels simultaneously resulting in 200,000 hours of content being stored in a
single server.

nCUBE’s Digital Program Insertion solution, the next generation of advertising insertion technology, will also be featured at the Western Show. Demonstrations of
nCUBE’s Digital Program Insertion solution can been viewed in the booths of Cisco Systems, BigBand Networks and Terayon Communications
Systems.

“With the unmatched scalability of our technology, nCUBE is uniquely suited to meet the future needs of cable operators planning to deploy advanced interactive
services such as network PVR,” said Michael Pohl, president of nCUBE. “nCUBE plays a significant role in facilitating the delivery of current services such as traditional
VOD and SVOD. Our involvement at the Western Show will showcase nCUBE’s ability to provide cable operators with a full-range of end-to-end VOD and digital
advertising insertion solutions.”

Michael Pohl, nCUBE president will speak at a Western Show panel on Nov. 29, 2001 at 1:45 p.m. entitled, “Digital Europe: Is it Paving the Way for the U.S.?” Pohl
will discuss how the acceptance of interactive services in Europe is far and above the rates of adoption in the U.S., and what implications this will have for the cable
industry and consumers.
