OpenTV to Showcase iTV Solutions at the Western Show

OpenTV, the world’s leading interactive television company, will feature its full range of interactive TV solutions at the
2001 Western Show from Nov. 28-30.

OpenTV will provide live demonstrations of its full interactive portal, which includes email, instant messaging, chat, games, local content and commerce applications
that are currently running on the Motorola DCT-2000 set-top box, the most widely deployed set-top in the U.S.

The demonstrations at the Western Show will highlight OpenTV’s vertically integrated solution for iTV. They include:

— Interactive content from Cablesoft and Static 2358’s PlayJam,

the world’s most popular and largest multi-platform
interactive games channel. PlayJam recently launched on the
Cablevision system, which serves more than 3 million
subscribers. Cablesoft develops local content and now features
a new, more economical approach to local iTV content, commerce
and applications.

— Device Mosaic(TM), the most widely deployed interactive
television software in the U.S. The Device Mosaic HTML engine
is deployed in more than seven million set top boxes including
PowerTV, TiVo, Motorola and Sony, and provides the basis for
interactive content on the Cablevision system.

— Embedded software solutions for thin, thick and specialty
set-tops, including a live Personal Video Recorder (PVR)
demonstration running on an advanced thick client box that
enable viewers to record and control television programming.

— OpenTV Advertise, an interactive advertising management suite,
jointly developed with Predictive Networks, Inc. that enables
operators to manage and insert advertising content into
applications such as weather and news.

— Networking products such as OpenTV Publisher(TM) and
OpenStreamer(TM) that blend digital TV and the Internet to
provide a truly TV-centric interactive experience. With OpenTV
Publisher, developers have the ability to create compelling
interactive services, including real-time content updates.

— Professional services that support OpenTV’s full range of
products and services, from start to finish, including
consulting and set-top box integration to eventual deployment
and support through Spyglass Integration and the OpenTV
Partner Program.
