by Alan Sheckter, SmartTV & Sound news editor
Recently announced, Matrox InfonetTV is an information delivery system designed for cable and community television as well as corporate communications. Its technology gives users the ability to create, control and send their messages to a target audience, via cable channels, closed circuit TV and the Internet. The Matrox InfonetTV system simultaneously allows for a multimedia content creation as well as broadcast-quality output from a single PC. It offers integration of graphics, text, audio and live or MPEG-2 video with high-quality picture-in-picture.
The company not only projects Matrox InfonetTV for public cable channels, but expects it spark interest for delivering corporate communications to hotel and trade show hospitality channels as well as digital signage for malls, airports and outdoor billboards.
Matrox projected a spring, 2002 release for the hardware and software bundle at an MSRP of $5,495.
