Wink Interactivity to be Added to Network Advertising Bundles

ALAMEDA, Calif., May 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Wink Communications, Inc.announced today that several of their key programming partners have chosen to bundle Wink interactivity into their upfront advertising sales campaigns.

Numerous Networks are taking advantage of the opportunity to add Wink-enabled interactivity to their existing advertising bundles including ABC, CNBC, ESPN and ESPN2, NBC, TechTV and The Weather Channel. In addition, CNN and CNN Headline News, The Discovery Channel and TLC will include Wink’s interactive element this season, as part of their standard upfront offering. CNN, for example, will be selling enhanced spots and enhanced sponsorships. CNN’s “iTV dashboard” will allow sponsors to have a presence on a 24/7 news ticker available within Wink-enabled CNN programs

Wink Enhanced Broadcasting gives viewers a free and convenient way to interact with advertisements and programs while they continue to watch TV. Wink’s technology enables advertisers and programmers to enhance TV with interactive overlays that appear as supplemental text and graphics on the TV screen. By clicking their remote control during an enhanced advertisement, viewers can request product samples, coupons, brochures and other offers from advertisers, enroll in promotions and contests and make purchases instantly.
