Interactive Music Software Lets PC Users Become the ‘Fifth Beatle’

Reprinted from a Music Playground press release:

ANDOVER, Mass., May 14 /PRNewswire/ — Ever dreamed of becoming one of The Beatles and playing with the band? Now Beatles fans can make that dream come true … almost.

A new PC-based interactive music product allows fans of the Fab Four to literally play along with some of their favorite Beatles songs without even needing to know how to play an instrument. And if playing is not enough, Karaoke-style lyrics let users sing along as well. Onstage Beatles Edition from MusicPlayground ($19.95) is available at http://www.musicplayground.com/Beatles.

MusicPlayground’s Onstage Beatles Edition is Windows(R) PC-based software that makes use of a V-Pick virtual instrument (picture an oversized guitar pick) to “virtually” play the guitar or bass part from 25 songs popularized by The Beatles.

Once the software is installed, plug your virtual instrument into your computer’s USB port, pick up a tennis racket or other appropriate air-guitar facsimile, and select the song you want to play. Choices include “Birthday,” “Revolution,” “Yesterday,” and “Hey Jude,” among others.

MusicPlayground is also promoting the launch of its Beatles Edition with a trivia contest that gives entrants the chance to win a piece of Beatles history e.g., a limited edition lithograph of the original 1965 Score to “Yesterday” signed by Paul McCartney and producer George Martin. The promotion runs through June 30th.

MusicPlayground is selling the Onstage Beatles Edition through its web site at http://www.musicplayground.com/Beatles. The $19.95 introductory price (regularly $39.95) makes it a fun and affordable way for Beatles fans and music fans in general to turn their rock star dreams into a reality.
