El Gato Unveils EyeTV Digital Video Recorder for Macs

MACWORLD, New York, NY/ July 15, 2002 / El Gato Software LLC announced a brand new product for the Macintosh today called EyeTV Digital Video Recorder. EyeTV is a complete hardware and software solution that allows users to watch or pause live television on their Mac, or record programs to hard disk for viewing at a later time.

EyeTV’s time-shifting feature gives users the power to pause live television broadcasts to attend to interruptions and then resume watching when ready. It also provides the ability to skip commercials, instantly replay a scene, or watch in slow motion, fully controlling their viewing experience.

EyeTV’s other features include a program guide that allows users to find shows of interest using keyword searches by title, actor, or genre, and the ability to archive programs onto VideoCDs that are playable in most DVD players.

EyeTV is available in the North America today and has a suggested retail price of $199.
