Samsung Debuts Latest Multimedia Progressive Scan DVD Player

Las Vegas, NV — Samsung Electronics America, Inc., builds on its leadership of multimedia progressive scan
DVD players with the debut of the DVD-P731M progressive scan DVD player. The new model offers
incredible playback flexibility, supporting not only DVD discs, but also multiple flash memory formats
including: Memory Stick, Secure Digital, Smart Media, and Multi-Media cards with a single bay/port. The
DVD-P731M is on display at the Samsung booth (#12016 Central Hall LVCC) during the Consumer
Electronics Show, January 9-12, 2003.

With an elegant titanium finish, the DVD-P731M is the perfect stylish addition to a home theater system.
Support for 480p progressive scan video output ensures that the DVD-P731M outputs the highest-quality
DVD video possible.

When used with a compatible digital television monitor, the DVD-P731M offers crystal clear, flicker-free
images through Samsung’s 480p progressive scan system-a boon to the DVD movie buff. The model is also
a digital photographer’s dream offering support for four flash memory formats: Memory Stick, SD, Smart
Media and Multi-Media Card formats. That makes the DVD-P731M perfect for fast viewing of digital images
or the playback of digital music. As an added bonus, the model can playback JPEG CDs and Photo CDs.

Samsung’s DVD-P731M isn’t just great with video formats it also works wonders on music playback,
supporting CD, MP3, WMA, and CD-R/RW music formats. The memory card function can also be used for
playback of digital audio files, such as MP3s.

A sleek remote control allows users to glide through DVD menus - or the player’s advanced on-screen
graphic user interface that controls the players’ functions - with their fingertip. A shuttle dial on the
front-panel also allows for easy navigation and there’s a headphone jack with volume control on the front
of the player.

Samsung’s DVD-P731M (MSRP $229) ships in July.
