TiVo Offering Gift Subscriptions

TiVo’s ability to allow viewers to watch what they want, when they can, eliminating “appointment TV,” has driven its subscriber base beyond 1 million and once again put the digital video recorder at the top of many holiday wish lists. And this year a special rebate, greater availability at retail and new service gift subscriptions make giving the gift of TiVo is about as much fun as receiving it.
A TiVo Series2 DVR starts at just $199 this year, after a $50 mail in rebate, its lowest price ever for the holiday season. In addition, consumers can now purchase TiVo service gift subscriptions for three, six or 12 months, or product lifetime so gift recipients can immediately immerse themselves in the TiVo experience. These gift subscriptions provide gift givers the option to bundle a limited amount of service with the DVR, and can be purchased online at www.tivo.com.
The TiVo Series2 DVR works with any TV set-up: cable, digital cable, satellite or antenna, and comes in models that can store up to 40 or 80 hours of recorded television. There are no complicated timers, stacks of videotape or any of the other hassles of the old VCR. Consumers can purchase the 40 hour TiVo Series2 DVR for as low as $199, and the 80 hour model for only $299 after the $50 mail-in rebate. Both models are available at major retailers including Best Buy, Circuit City, Tweeter, Good Guys, Ultimate Electronics, and online at Amazon.com and www.tivo.com. The TiVo service is sold separately for $12.95 per month, or a one-time fee of $299 for the lifetime of the product.
TiVo Series2 DVR gift recipients have something else to look forward to this year! A simple upgrade to the Home Media Option package provides expanded capabilities like scheduling recordings on the Internet, listening to music through your home theater system, or viewing family photos on the television. The Home Media Option package is available online at www.tivo.com for a one-time fee of $99 for the first TiVo Series2 DVR, and $49 for each additional DVR. And if purchased before December 31, 2003, customers will get 50 free digital camera prints from Snapfish.
